Check ABN is operated by Suama Pty Ltd (ACN 675 918 920) as trustee for the Suama Trust (ABN 26 626 957 599), Melbourne, Victoria ("we").

Check ABN looks up public business details from the Australian Business Register (ABR). It has no accounts, no sign-in, no cookies, no analytics and no ads. This policy explains exactly what happens to the information you give it.

What we receive

When you use Check ABN in ChatGPT, ChatGPT sends us only what a lookup needs:

We don't receive your name, email address, ChatGPT account details or the rest of your conversation. The requests come from OpenAI's servers, so we don't see your IP address. Please don't put personal information into a lookup that it doesn't need.

Why we use it

Only to answer that lookup: we find the matching record in our copy of the ABR data and return it to ChatGPT. We don't use it for profiling, marketing, advertising or training, and we don't sell it.

What we store and log, and for how long

WhatKept
Your searches, ABNs, names, invoice details and the results returnedNot stored. Our code doesn't write them to a database, file, cache or log. They exist in memory only while the lookup runs.
Our host's request logs (Vercel): time, path (/mcp), status code, duration, region, and the caller's user agent and network address (OpenAI's servers, not yours). They don't contain your search terms.About 1 hour (Vercel's log retention on our plan), then deleted by Vercel.
Error messages from our code, if a lookup fails (for example "weekly copy failed: timeout"). They never include the search terms. In the same Vercel logs, about 1 hour.
Emails you send to supportKept in our support inbox (hosted by AgentMail, USA) while we help you, and deleted within 12 months of our last reply.

Our database (Turso) holds only the ABR's public bulk extract. Lookups only read from it; we never write your searches to it.

Who receives it

Some of these recipients are in the United States: OpenAI, Vercel, AgentMail, and Turso as a company (our database itself is in Sydney). Lookup results, which can include a sole trader's name from the public register, go to OpenAI in the US to show you the answer. We don't share lookups with anyone else.

Your choices

Business details shown in results

Results are public ABR records. Some records are for sole traders and include their name. We show them as published by the ABR and don't combine them with other data.

Our name search doesn't search individuals' legal names. A sole trader can still be found by a business name they've registered, even if it's their own name. If you're listed and your details are wrong, or you want them withheld, update them with the ABR; our copy refreshes weekly. If the ABR withdraws a record, it drops out at our next refresh, and we'll remove it sooner if you email us.

Children

Check ABN is a business tool and isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who receives it, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
